JURERÊ BEACH: It is a calm and beautiful beach, typical of the north of the Island. Sophisticated neighborhood, the beach has beautiful houses and Iate Clube of Santa Catarina. It is agitated in the summer. It offers good restaurants and supermarkets. Jurerê’s beach is near by Daniela's Beach (4 Km).

SÃO JOSÉ DA PONTA GROSSA FORTRESS: The Fortification is located in the Forte’s beach, between Daniela's beaches and Jurerê. It is near by Santo Antonio's fortresses and of Santa Cruz forming the defense triangle in the entrance of the North Bay. Built in 1740 with three batteries of cannons armed with 31 artillery pieces, the Fortress was invaded by Spaniard in 1777. The Fortification was abandoned after the invasion. In 1938 the Fortress was put under governmental trust. Since 1992 the Fortress is managed by Santa Catarina Federal University which provides the restoration.
Around the fortress there are many restaurants fishermen where you taste fish, oysters, and delicious shellfishes.

It is a beautiful landscape to walk. It is a walk recommended for any age.  Car access through the Jurerê beach (4 Km from Daniela). When the tide is low It is possible to go walking for Daniela beach. The public visitation is usually allowed from Tuesday to Sunday until 17:00 hs. The price is of R$ 4,00.
  

ANHATOMIRIM ISLAND: It is a small Island located in the entrance of the North Bay, of approximately 4, 5 km2. There is a fortress built between 1739 and 1744 called Santa Cruz Fortification. It was the most important fortress from Santa Catarina Island. In 1938 the Fortress was put under governmental trust. The Fortification remained abandoned until the decades of "70" and '80". Since then, the Fortress is managed by Santa Catarina Federal University which provides the restoration.

The entrance porch is a very beautiful construction, the commander's house and the troop’s shelter. Rounded by rocky coastlines with a very blue sea, there are different kind of fishes, stars of the sea, and a lot of dolphins. It is a beautiful island to visit for everybody. There are good schooners services that accomplish walks in the area leaving the Canasvieiras Beach from 6 Km of Daniela's Beach. You should consult the schooner’s operators.

SANTINHO BEACH: It is a beautiful beach, the surfers like a lot, and it is one of the best to go surfing. An interesting attraction is the rupestres paintings. They had been done five thousand years ago by the hunters, and fishermen of the Island. It is a big wall of black diabásio (a kind of rock) which has approximately 3 square meters, near to the beach. It is covered with signs recorded deeply in the rock.     

The beach is called Santinho because of a sign recorded in the rock as a human appearance. Some years ago, the fishermen used to pray asking for protection as a saint sign.
 

CONCEIÇÃO POND: It is a famous sightseeing in Florianopolis which located in the middle of the Island. It is the largest pond of the city. Near by the Pond there are beaches and dunes. Windsurf, kayaks, and Jet Ski are typical sports practiced in the pond. There are restaurants, bars with a loud music. It is very appreciated by the young people. In the summer a lot of people enjoy dancing in the bars. In Conceição Pond there is a beautiful handcraft.

MOLE BEACH: The surfers enjoy a lot the strong waves caused by the open sea. The curious name means the soft and free sand; it is a famous youth’s point. There are several bars and restaurants. Children should be very careful because the big waves besides the depth increase in a few steps. The lifeguard station is well equipped. In the summer season the traffic is slow the whole day.

 

JOAQUINA BEACH: Enjoyed by surfers because your big waves, a lot of tourists visit every year, it is a famous sightseeing since seventies when many surfers took part in championships. It is called Joaquina as a legend from century XVIII when a woman who lived in the beach was carried by a strong wave when she was sewing. There are public showers and a wide parking pay, parking for tourism buses, lifeguard, police station, craft store, bars, restaurants. Near by Joaquina Beach there are the most famous in south dunes, where it is possible to practice the sandboard renting a board at the own place or appreciate a beautiful landscape. 
The Island also has other dunes, in permanent preservation areas, located in the Ingleses Beach, Santinho Beach, Moçambique Beach, Campeche Beach, Armação Beach and Pântano do Sul Beach, but the largest is the Joaquina Beach Dunes

HERCÍLIO LUZ BRIDGE: The construction began on November 14, 1922 and it was opened on May 13, 1926, called first as Independência Bridge because allowed the people cross easier between the Island and the Continent. Later received the Florianópolis´s governor name Hercílio Luz who constructed the bridge. Its weight is about 5.000 tons, and the foundations and pillars consumed about 14.000 concrete m3. The two towers measure 75 m, starting from the sea level, and the central space has height of 43 m. Before the bridge construction the Island’s inhabitants depended on the ferry-boats to cross which were very slowly. The bridge was built as an important estate keeping Florianópolis as capital of Santa Catarina. The Bridge was put under governmental trust in 1997 as a Historical and Artistic Patrimony. It is an important sightseeing, a beautiful postcard to the Island.
There is a belvedere which provides a beautiful landscape. The Government created the Bridge Museum and the Light Garden. 
 

CATHEDRAL: In 1675 the expeditionary Francisco Dias Velho built at the highest place of Nossa Senhora do Desterro Villa the first chapel of the city in honor to the patroness. In 1773, the current Cathedral was raised at the same place. The Mother Church was modified many times.  The original architectural was lost. The most important in the Cathedral is the sacred art collection which has an important sculpture "Escape to Egypt", from the Tyrolese artist Demetz, that presents in two cedar blocks the escape of the Sacred Family in natural size. In the collection there is the German organ of tubes, of 1924, the main carillon with five bells, of 1922 and the stained glass windows, which was done in São Paulo in 1949.

MUNICIPAL MARKET: The building was built in 1898 in front of the Customhouse to replace the old market, which was demolished in 1896 after 45 years. At first was built just a wing. In 1915 another wing was built on top of an embankment. The Municipal Market has been built 140 boxes, where it is possible to find clothes, a very kind of fresh fish and craft works ceramic, straw and wicker. The building has a very good and famous snack bars, as well as place of the traditional Carnival festivities.
 
NORTH SEA-SHORE AVENUE: It is gone back to the Coast West and in front of the Continent. The way to the people who visit the Island. The avenue has walked track for, bike way, snack bars, and BeiraMar Shopping. There are beautiful buildings where the people have a pleasant landscape.

BRAVA BEACH: This is a beautiful beach where the very strong waves caused by the open sea are appreciated by surfers. It is located on the North of the Island; however, the big waves are a different characteristic from the North which has calm beaches. It is a famous youth’s point. This is a 1, 5 Km of extension’s beach, protected by hills. There is a beautiful landscape in a belvedere when you are going to the beach.
Brava Beach was ignored until seventies. Since then, beautiful buildings was constructed.
    
SAMBAQUI AND SANTO ANTONIO DE LISBOA: It is an area where the Azorean colonization architecture is preserved. The Azorean colonization happened about the century XVIII. There is a beautiful view of the North Bay and Hercílio Luz Bridge. They are gone back to the continent. There is a very beautiful sunset, and typical seafood restaurants at a low price, where the inhabitants use to go in the weekends and happy hour. It is a traditional village of fishermen specialized in the oysters creation and shellfishes.

OLD CUSTOMHOUSE: Inaugurated on June 29, 1876, the building is a neoclassical style. It is a construction performed with care, and refined finishing, with porcelain floors and with, according to the old-fashioned way taste. Externally the building is in good repair.Nowadays on the first floor is the technical office where the Institute of the Historical and Artistic Patrimony National works - Iphan.

In the ground floor works the Santa Catarina Association of Plastic Artists, a very important sale point and exhibition of typical crafts of the Island, and the Customs Bar.
